- The Rumtek Monastery is one of the oldest in the world and was erected to be the spitting image of the Tsurphu Monastery located in Tibet. The monastery was built by the Kagyu Sect of Buddhists.
- The Hanuman Tok is a Hanuman Temple situated at an elevation of 7,500 feet. It offers you amazing views of the Kanchenjunga mastiff.
- Flower Exhibition Centre hosts the International Flower Festival and displays a stunning variety of orchids annually since Sikkim grows the richest variety of orchids worldwide.
- The Banjhakri Falls is surrounded by a park, filled with figurines of forest healers demonstrating their ritualistic steps. You can even play around the waterfall and get a closer view
Travel to Gangtok
Gangtok is a landlocked region and can be accessed by road. Shared jeeps and reserved vehicles are available from the Bagdogra Airport vehicle stand, Siliguri Junction near Pradhan Nagar, or from the New Jalpaiguri Railway Station.
Sikkim inaugurated its new airport in the month of March 2018. The Pakyong Airport received its first debut landing from a SpiceJet carrier that flew from Kolkata. The airport will start receiving more incoming flights soon.
